At least 30 years ago, I heard a grandma, who has since passed on, say, "If I had known how wonderful grandchildren are, I would have started with them!" (As opposed to starting with her children, of course.)
OK, we know she was expressing her emotions concerning her grandchildren. (BTW, I know she loved her kids, too.)
Likewise, when I whisper to each one of my grandchildren, "You're my favorite", I'm expressing my emotions.
In fact, they know that I say this to each and every one of them. Some have actually heard me say this to their siblings or cousins. We all know this is illogical, but so what? I really mean it, for it's true in a paradoxical way! Yes, it is! Just ask any grandparent with two or more grandchildren! (OK, maybe not all grandparents are like this. Alas.)
And why is this? Because this is the way God made us! And this is the way Father God views His children. (Note: Father God has no grandchildren.) In fact, it says in scripture (the Bible), that He wants all people everywhere to be His children. (First Timothy 2:4 & Second Peter 3: 9) But some refuse! Alas! Don't refuse! Repent! You need a Father like this, and you know it!
